The ingredients needed to prepare Dal gosht:
  1. Use 1/2 cup soaked chana dal
  2. Use 300 grams chicken
  3. Provide 1 potato cut into big pieces (optional)
  4. Get 1/2 small onion
  5. Get 1/2 tomato
  6. Prepare 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  7. Use 1/2 turmeric powder
  8. Take 1 tsp coriander-cumin powder
  9. You need 1-2 tsp Kashmiri Lal mirch Powder
  10. Take to taste Salt
  11. Use 1/2 sugar
  12. Take 1 bay leaf
  13. You need 1 cinammon stick
  14. Prepare 1/2 jeera
  15. Take 1 elaichi and 1 dried red chilli
  16. Prepare 1 pinch hing
  17. Provide as required Few curry leaves
  18. Get as required Oil
  19. You need 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  20. Prepare 2 Chopped green chillies
Steps to make Dal gosht:
  1. Heat a pan and add some oil in it. Now add all the whole spices & curry leaves & hing into it. Let it sputter for a while. Now add the potato & chicken pieces into it.
  2. Give it a mix, now grind the onion coarsely and add in to the kadai, add green chillies, tomato cut into small pieces, ginger-garlic paste, salt, turmeric, garam masala, sugar, Kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander-cumin powder and mix everything very well.
  3. Now cover it and cook it for a while, for about 15 mins. Now add soaked chana dal to it & give it a mix. Now add half a cup of water to it.
  4. Again cover it and cook it till it's 70% done. Now transfer it into the cooker adding a cup of water to it and cook it till one whistle, then add some chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan 🌹🌹
