- You need 3 teaspoons garam masala
- Get 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
- You need 1 tablespoon soya sauce
- Prepare 1 - 2 teaspoons sugar
- Get 2 chicken stock masala maggi cubes
- You need to taste salt
- Get 1/2 bunch coriander leaves
Instructions to make Authentic Punjabi Chole/Chana Masala:
- Firstly pressure cook the washed soaked(overnight) chickpeas or chole in water with salt and tumeric. Wait for2-3 whistle or till 3/4th done.
- Chop and puree the tomatoes and strain the pits andd seeds.
- Saute the whole spices in a few tablespoon of oil and dalda, add the ginger garlic paste. Fry till brown.
- Next the chopped onions, till translucent and slightly brown. Add the masalas and sauté well.
- Add the tomato puree and 2 cups water. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Take 1/2 cup of ththe cooked chole and blend to a puree.
- Add for creamy thickness. Also, add the tomato sauce,soya.chat masala,garam masala and mix well. Taste off with the maggi cubes.
- Finally add sugar,salt as taste. Squeeze a lime juice for some sourness. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
