The ingredients needed to prepare Homemade Macaroni & Cheese:
- Use 4 Cups Macaroni Pasta
- Prepare 1 Cup Plain Flour
- Use 500 mls Milk
- Provide 500 mls Water
- Provide 100 Grams Butter
- Prepare 3 Teaspoon Yellow(English) Mustard
- Prepare 300 Grams Cheese, Grated
- You need 1 Teaspoon Oil
- Provide 1 Teaspoon Salt
Instructions to make Homemade Macaroni & Cheese:
- Put the Macaroni on to cook, with the Oil and Salt in the water.(Prevents sticking to the pan!) (10-15 Minutes)
- Meanwhile grate the Cheese and set aside.
- Put the Flour and Butter into a large saucepan, and start to heat gently, stirring to prevent burning. Add a small amount of milk to the mix, still stirring.
- Keep adding the milk, stirring and heating to make a thick paste, then adding more milk then the water until it’s all mixed in and a creamy sauce is made. If you have any lumps, use a whisk!
- Turn down the heat, spoon in the Mustard, then add the grated Cheese, stirring all the while. Turn down the heat on the sauce and check the Pasta.
- If cooked, drain well, then pour over the sauce and mix well. Enough for 4 portions. Can be frozen or just re- heated!! Enjoy!!
Add butter and cheese to the egg and milk. Cook the macaroni until very firm. The macaroni should be too firm to eat right out of the pot. In a small bowl, beat the egg. In a large pot, melt the butter and sprinkle in the flour.
